About the Program
The Australian Cancer Data Network (ACDN) program is a nationally agreed capability to facilitate consistent datasets at institutions and the ability to learn across these datasets. These include a key focus on regular treatment (clinical practice) data, the ability to consider clinical trial data and cohort studies and a vision to incorporate registry datasets.
Using federated learning and aggregated analysis, we can learn across these datasets without the data being moved from local institutions. Machine learning analysis can be undertaken using these approaches across Australia and international links.
Our network includes strong collaborative links between centres to support answering critical clinical questions and developing technical approaches and capabilities. We have established governance structure to provide expert input to support data users including clinicians, data scientists, governments and policy makers.
It will expand the scale and accessibility of the existing Australian Computer Assisted Theranostics Network (AusCAT) by linking to the Cancer Alliance Queensland’s QLD Oncology On-Line (CAQ) platform and the Cancer Variations (CaVa) project in NSW.
