Governance

The governance structure of the Australian Cancer Data Network aims to achieve input and communication from and between all collaborating groups, a pathway for supporting projects that would like to use the network including technical and clinical input as necessary, and strategy for ensuring that the network is effectively utilised, developed and resourced for the benefit of our broader community, particularly our cancer patients.
Our governance structure, described in the figure below, involves the following groups:
Executive Panel
Comprises the clinical, technical, datasets and translational panel chairs, representatives from key collaborating programs and consumer representatives. It will take responsibility for the overall program of work, take advice from the panels and support the working and research groups as necessary.
Data Panel
Comprises representatives from all datasets on the network (PIs from dataset contributors) and will be tasked with reviewing project feasibility and any dataset issues.
Technical Panel
Comprises technical experts. It will be tasked with overseeing the technical goals and plans for the program ensuring cohesion across the broader program of work.
Clinical Panel
Comprises clinical experts and will be tasked with overseeing clinical input to the goals and plans for the program ensuring cohesion across the broader program of work.
Translation Panel
Comprises consumers & translation experts including industry representatives and will be tasked with providing expertise and guidance on translation of the goals and plans for the program.
